    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

The item number for this is NY19.11 - https://secure.toronto.ca/council/agenda-item.do?item=2024.NY19.11

General cycling issues (Is Toronto bike friendly?)

I expect the that the city will start some kind of legal challenge to it - likely under Section 7 of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms ("7 Everyone has the right to life, liberty and security of the person and the right not to be deprived thereof except in accordance with the principles of...

    Pickering Airport (Transport Canada/GTAA, Proposed)

Looks like the main Fed Ex facility in Montreal is at Mirabel. Sitting through commercials? Besides, it's just sheer rude - and likely a violation of the rules.

    Pickering Airport (Transport Canada/GTAA, Proposed)

Perhaps the best thing to do is look at an example where there is two big airports, and only one is passenger. In Montreal, Mirabel had about 42,500 aircraft movements in 2022 while Trudeau had had about 200,000. That's 20%. Meanwhile Pearson had about 640,000 movements in 2023.

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

As far as I know, there's no stops marked, or unmarked on Adelaide between Spadina and York. It's been decades since an in-service car detoured there.

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

I don't think a Liberal government that is further right than the last Liberal government is going to do that.

Lack of meaningful Passenger Rail service outside the Quebec-Windsor Corridor

Jasper is the same track as Grande Prairie for the first 250 km. I'd think the question is why aren't the other tracks there. Or why the southern regional rail lines don't enter Calgary. The answer is likely simply that it's a low-quality graphic with little real meaning.

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

Three tracks still allow for express trains + VIA. I don't know why the 4-track configuration would be a concern. Or what the big deal about the lack of a rail flyover is. If they can do it without ... why not. There's been zero indication that service would be impacted, outside of the fan groups.

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

As far as I know Danforth Road will be separated. That only leaves Progress that's south of Sheppard. There's certainly approved TPAPs to separate and close everything other than Danforth - which seems by far the most critical...

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

I'm curious which streets it's alleged will no longer be grade-separated?

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

Hopefully they have to get Hydro to do some work first. 🤣

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

What's a locomotive lifespan? 30+ years? Surely there's enough diesels already around for operations 15 years from now, given the amount of electrification they are talking about. I can see a lot of reasons to buy used engines. What's the downside, other than being Tier 2.

Roads: Gardiner Expressway catch-all, incl. Hybrid Design (2015-onwards)

Well, they could move the ramps to Leslie instead. 🤣

Roads: Gardiner Expressway catch-all, incl. Hybrid Design (2015-onwards)

I'm not sure that would the most expensive cost. I think there is still place for new pillars. The big cost would be the impacts to the contracts to build the current design. But as that work doesn't start until 2027, there's still time to change that.

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

A true FOAD I doubt that they even fully read it. Years ago, GO's customer service compared to TTC's was exceptional. It's amazing how things have changed.

TTC: Scarborough Busway Construction (portion of the former Scarborough RT route)

I think the 2027 opening date for the extension vanished once MetroHicks took over. :)

    Toronto Union Station Revitalization | ?m | ?s | City of Toronto | NORR

I'm amazed that it is completely absent from the OED, and never made it to the Canadian Oxford Dictionary. I've submitted the word to the OED for review.

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

I don't recall any reports at the time that she was employed by the TTC or the city. There's a big difference between single person, who pissed off an ex-girlfriend by choosing someone else and married man with a direct subordinate, who then arranged for her a job in a company related that you...

Roads: Gardiner Expressway catch-all, incl. Hybrid Design (2015-onwards)

Without thinking much, I'd think the piers for the expressway would get in the way of the tightly-spaced tracks. Perhaps the question could be can't it run right along the edge of the Don Yard? With both projects now being run by the same ministry, then I suspect there are more options than...

General cycling issues (Is Toronto bike friendly?)

I'm not sure if that's just a joke, or minimum spends are actually a thing? (I've never been in a Costco - don't you need a membership or something?)
