I am really loving most of the elements of this building, except for the very prominent amount of cheap looking grey aluminum panels between the heritage elements and the main tower. Why? The colour is fine but pick a better material. Even grey bricks would work better (precast or not).

This is all kinds of cheap and ugly, isn't it. It's amazing someone with an architectural degree even designed it.

The design is a bit of a mess already. And with a tower covered in aluminum panels, it most likely will look cheap and worn before its time. I have little confidence that this will look decent in the end. And I say that with sadness.

Is it a bit overbearing on the Spadina buildings? That was my first impression (granted the renderings are of a warped perspective). Love the building....wouldn't mind if the built form was a bit different (maybe stepping away from Spadina, instead of stepping forward).

Gotta give credit as to how the building actually meets the street (with the nice stone work at the base). So many condos have an unfinished looking concrete base.

If the purpose of the upper glass clad office component was to disappear and blend into the sky, while leaving the historical street facades to shine, then the building succeeded. And if it was not the intended purpose, I just found the design's best justification. ;)
