    Zoning Reform Ideas

Understatement of the century! None of those streets should have a single family home on them.

    St Lawrence Market

The neighbourhood has made a series of improvements to be sure, including but not limited to park improvements, some new developments, etc. However with that said, it’s a shame that every walk down front st east, king st east, Adelaide east involves dodging individuals that are mentally I’ll...

    St Lawrence Market

My outrage is "out of control"? What lol. If you think the neighbourhood feels as safe and clean as it did 5 years ago, more power to you. Calling my comments out of control is laughable.

    St Lawrence Market

Absolutely tired of what the neighbourhood has become. In the last five years it went from quite tolerable to intolerable.

    Zoning Reform Ideas

Random question for everyone here. Why do we even have "transition zones"? Is there a specific reason we don't allow the aforementioned 7-8 story minimum as of right on all streets, including those off of the main street? Why do we keep limiting ourselves to a sliver of land on arterial roads?

    St Lawrence Market

Genuine question, is there a reason other neighbourhood cannot pick up the slack? This area is slammed with shelters as it is. I read through the material above and it seems very wishy washy.

    Toronto Annex Flats | 8.9m | 2s | Originate | Smart Density

I'll explain how. If we decide that a privileged (rich) few get to live in large homes in the middle (literally downtown) of a metropolitan city, we're saying that their comfort matters more than building density. For example, why can't sites like this be treated like The Selby...

    Toronto Annex Flats | 8.9m | 2s | Originate | Smart Density

The use of "heritage" is a dog whistle for classist and racist ideology that seeks to prevent neighbourhoods close to subway stations from gentrifying and mixed income families moving in. We can preserve heritage while building density. I don't want to hear "laneways" being mentioned anywhere in...

    Toronto Annex Flats | 8.9m | 2s | Originate | Smart Density

Honestly I think it looks ridiculous. Why are we shoehorning homes into a laneway. Let's redevelop the area. We're building like it's 1850.
