    Moose Rail (National Capital Region)

Thanks @steveintoronto, My colleaugues and I noticed that the Agency's 7 June 2017 decision was not posted on our site. Sorry, we thought it was there already. https://www.letsgomoose.ca/wp-content/uploads/LET-R-27-2017.pdf This is the letter that led to a flurry of news at that time, e.g...

    Moose Rail (National Capital Region)

@Allandale25, You've cited an article from a year ago. It's out-of-date. Instead of authorization last autumn 2016 with a "Certificate of Fitness", Moose receive clarification from the Agency about the process and sequence it wants us to follow. So we're following it, and we proceeded with our...

@Charles, The spur from the main Ellwood Sub leading up to the Bayview platform was created with a grade, and leaves just 14' or so of clearance above the O-Train, to the underside of the Albert Street bridge. This is not enough height for regular-sized North American style freight or...

@Charles, Looking forward to your replies to questions here: http://urbantoronto.ca/forum/threads/moose-rail-national-capital-region.25806/page-21#post-1251747 Yes, that switch was removed by the City of Ottawa in 2009. You'll find the details at paragraph 12 here...

    Moose Rail (National Capital Region)

Charles, A few questions: 1. Have you taken a look at the elevations at this site? To run the new track from the O-Train's existing platform to the bridge, do you prefer to run the track downhill towards the bridge, or to lower the platform a few meters and retrofit the new station? 2. Can...

The good people at https://otc-cta.gc.ca/eng/contact-us, https://www.transportaction.ca and http://www.railcan.ca/contact can help track down documents. They're all friendly and knowledgeable. We don't view the status quo arrangements as cast in stone. And we do view the transit planning...

You mean the O-Train's Certificate of Fitness? https://otc-cta.gc.ca/eng/ruling/745-r-2000 MOOSE was invited to a CUTA conference panel and a US workshop in Philadelphia in 2015, and separately, caught the attention of some European planners. ...Oh, and some global investors. It might all go...

SteveInToronto, You of all participants on this blog well know that we're not a train business; we're a property value optimization business. It is, and will remain: Mobility Ottawa-Outaouais: Systems & Enterprises | Mobilité Outaouais-Ottawa: Systèmes & Enterprises.

Good to hear. Specific suggestions for improvement are always welcome. Correct. We have completed the "pre-feasibility study". And the "feasibility study" is now underway. Except that the entire business design of Metrolinx would need to be replaced, and that is not likely. What I have...

Yes, we have validated that. Maybe. Certainly they're weather-tested. Start-up trains: whatever meets our basic operational req's in excellent condition on the re-sale market. Probably to be used for the first 5 years. Target trains: whatever optimizes demand for property near stations. TBD.

RE: "UrbanToronto is a softball audience for you. Why aren't you back on SkyscraperPages debating actual Ottawa residents? I suspect I know why." Skyscraper has long been linked to on our media page: https://www.onyvamoose.ca/media/ For other readers, here is the link...

    Moose Rail (National Capital Region)

Keep in mind, MOOSE is a large property value optimization project. The train service is the method. Our feasibility analysis is exploring (among many other things of course) whether a café on the 2nd deck of each bi-level car, of each train, can be expected to generate a net cost or net...

    Moose Rail (National Capital Region)

MOOSE will not sacrifice safety to reduce costs; is not seeking any exemptions from conventional regulations; and is actively researching ways to do better than minimum safety standards. In the PPR, public safety and business profit are synergistic. By analogy, if the owner of a high-rise...
