Ed, great post. I love how a whole swath of proposals were shown starting from the very beginning, only to end up in the present where a lot full of dirt sits still, holding the dreams of architects and fans alike.

The Harbourfront LRT line seems to do fine in the winter. I'm sure with their close proximity to the Lake and major roads such as the Gardiner, this would be the most affected by dampness and road salt dust. Why should any of the TC lines be any more affected by this phenomenon you describe...

I passed by the Bombardier plant up here in Thunder Bay last night, and there were 4 new bilevels outside the factory, three without numbers, and one with the #2736. There are more photos in the following thread (on UT) if anyone is interested...

Walked by the factory last night, and there were 4 brand new Bi-Level VIIs. 3 did not have numbers, and one sported # 2736.

It matters, we need to plug in all the trains for at least 4 hours each night for them to be fully charged for service the next day.

McCowan is a station with a fare-paid area (which I'm assuming is the difference between a station and a stop)... hence the need for a fare collector. Even if the SRT is converted, the current and planned stations will still retain the fare-paid areas and will still be stations.
