    Transit City Plan

Has the TTC or Metrolinx ordered vehicles for TC yet? With an operational date of 2013, I would hope so since the vehicles normally take 2-3 years to complete?

    TTC Museum / Visitor Centre

There sure is... http://www.trha.ca/. Wychwood barns would have been a nice spot.

Should Adam Giambrone Resign as Chair of the TTC?

Clinton didn't, and he held a slightly more powerful position. Not to mention he was in wedlock, whereas Adam isn't.

    TTC Stations - New Elevators 2010 - 2014

Regardless... wouldn't the stations remain the way they are, and still require elevators to get to the platforms?

Sharon Yetman's Subway Safety Plan (Better barrier for subways 'an obsession')

Patents are anywhere from $200 - $30,000, and the plan is to submit up to 15 of them? I also enjoy the quotes added into her previous post; "top" management - i.e. not really the top management and "ultimate efficiency" - i.e. it's not really efficient.

    Dufferin Street: Eliminating the jog

Think of the rainbow bridge along the DVP. The city eventually got tired of repainting that every time someone repainted the rainbow, and now it's considered an icon by many parkway users.

Ever been to Thunder Bay yourself picard? The bus system up here uses mainly Novas and some Orions - 49 buses, 17 routes, 90% of the population within 400 metres of a bus stop. A ridership of 3.1 million in 2007 also. I guess somebody must use the system. In RE to WK, there is a special...

Toronto CN Tower: Entry Pavilion, Plaza, Renos | ?m | ?s | CLC | Arcadis

I think it's because people like to celebrate a holiday that's been modified into an excuse to drink excessive amounts of alcohol.

Miapolis - Miami, United States of America (Kobi Karp)

Wow, that is quite the fugly tower. The side buildings look terrible. Reminiscent of a garbage dump to me. Quite phallic also.

Whose vision of transit in Toronto do you support?

The options in the poll presented really give polar opposites i.e. TTC vs. SOS. I would have voted for a mid-option as obviously some corridors that need a subway, but some that are better represented by LRT.

New GO BiLevel VIIs (From T.Bay)

Nope, there was only four cars. There was a crew moving them, so it may appear as if more vehicles were present.

The Toronto Star now wants an extra 50 cents for their STARWEEK TV guide!

Looks like prettyflamingo has been busy on the redflag forum also: http://www.redflagdeals.com/forums/toronto-star-now-wants-extra-50-cents-their-starweek-tv-guide-851691/, and as expected, it's getting the exact same reaction as on UT.

The Toronto Star now wants an extra 50 cents for their STARWEEK TV guide!

Fifty cents is quite a bargain. For that price, all you have to do is look on your doorstep or mail box, and there it is. If you prefer the alternative print guide, you can travel to the nearest convenience store and purchase TV Guide magazine for a price much more than 50 cents I'd assume...

The Toronto Star now wants an extra 50 cents for their STARWEEK TV guide!

Isn't StarWeek and printed TV guides in general becoming redundant? Most people have access to something called the internet which allows you to do glorious things, such as look up online TV guides which saves a lot of paper. Not to mention TV Guides that are accessible when subscribing to...

Montreal Métro New Stock - MR-08

Bummer. I thought it was hell on the metro when I visited last summer without any AC. I suppose as long as the cars are well ventilated the cool air in the tunnels can continue to do the job.

Montreal Métro New Stock - MR-08

Hasn't the STM always sort of been modeled after the Paris Metro? All in all, let's hope that decide to include A/C in these cars.

    1233 Queen East | ?m | 8s

The STM has posted the Request for Tenders document for their new subway, which has been linked in the Montreal Metro New Stock - MR-08 thread, the penalties section states: I haven't been able to find any documents from the TTC pertaining to penalties for late delivery, and we do know that...
