    Metrolinx: Presto Fare Card

Spotted on the 510 this morning. Interesting to see what system these scanners are built on.

    Toronto Union Pearson Express | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | MMM Group Limited

Wow wow wow, easy there!! Totally on board with everything you've said, but there's no need to get rid of the delicious Balzacs, especially when Union already has a Tims. And since when has Balzacs been elitist? If anything, the questionable part of the UP station at Union is the "CIBC...

TTC: Flexity Streetcars Testing & Delivery (Bombardier)

Yeah it's pretty confusing how the truck ended up on the tracks there. The impact is on its left side, so it was heading east? Could it have run the red at Lake Shore crossing the tracks and been pushed that far down?

One in service, another out... Just saw this on my way in to work:

    Toronto Queens Quay & Water's Edge Revitalization | ?m | ?s | Waterfront Toronto

This is in no way a confirmation, just from my experiences riding the 510 and 509 on Queens Quay regularly; I've found that some streetcar operators do drive much faster now that they see the next signal or two down the line already green. This was not the case prior to the installation of new...

TTC: Flexity Streetcars Testing & Delivery (Bombardier)

Fair enough. It's just so unfortunate that it'll take so long to send back, reconfigure, and have delivered, especially since we've been seeing it cruising the streets for so long as a test and training car. You'd hope they could turn it around as quickly as possible, which is no doubt what...

TTC: Flexity Streetcars Testing & Delivery (Bombardier)

October?! How can it possibly take 4 months to "reconfigure", that sounds about as long as it takes to build one from scratch. I have no idea how long it actually takes, but 4 months seems pretty long just to update one.

TTC: Flexity Streetcars Testing & Delivery (Bombardier)

I can totally understand the complaint. It's probably coming from the same frustration I'm having. Prior to splitting Flexities between the 509 and 510, there was a reasonable chance of catching a 510 Flexity with Presto, and that was with fewer Flexities in service. That chance now is...

    Toronto Queens Quay & Water's Edge Revitalization | ?m | ?s | Waterfront Toronto

The ice cream shop in the terminal has been closed for about two years now. The Baskin Robbins also closed about a year and a half ago. It's now a Jaipur Grille. There's the Gelato place, and Lavazza Espression, so you've still got a few places to go to! Went for a walk along Queens Quay...

TTC: Flexity Streetcars Testing & Delivery (Bombardier)

I guess its so they can claim "509 and 510 are Presto Enabled!!", assuming you wait around 30 minutes or more for a new one to show up. Also, what is up with LFLRVs on the 510 being assigned to the King or Queens Quay loop short turns? Why aren't they dedicated to making the full run to Union...

Toronto Union Subway Station: Second Platform and Concourse Improvements | ?m | ?s | TTC | IBI Group

I don't know if its been answered before, but after boarding the subway at Union on the new platform, I couldn't help but notice that the low ceiling leaves no room for digital signage. Is there a plan to add screens to the station somewhere displaying next train, and service advisorys at the...

    Toronto Queens Quay & Water's Edge Revitalization | ?m | ?s | Waterfront Toronto

The exact same collision took place again this morning at about 9:15am. While walking to the York streetcar stop, I heard a streetcar ringing it's bell and horn loudy, followed by a smash. Looked over to find a cab making a left turn onto the tracks right in front of a 510. He got out to...
