GO Transit Fleet Equipment and other

I have been told the cab car in the photo is 249. Afaik that car was delivered to Thunder Bay in late 2021, and yet it seems as though they have done zero work on it. Meanwhile other cars that arrived later seemed to have been stripped down already (247 and 248).

2 GO Transit cars waiting for refurbishment at Thunder Bay, one (decommisioned) cab car and one regular car. (not my pic)

So then would they move towards EMUs afterwards?

It's approaching a year since the tender for GO to acquire 13 diesel locomotives closed and yet there hasn't seemed to be any news regarding them. Considering GO is looking to have 8 of these locomotives delivered by 2024, I am kind of surprised there hasn't been much said about them since the...

One thing I like about the new two tone livery is that it retains the design of the middle white stripe along green that the old highway green livery had, it allows the two schemes to mesh well. This is not like Metrolink in LA, who's old and new schemes do not incorporate a design that meshes...

I don’t know. While I’m not a huge fan of the ML Two Tone scheme, I have to say GO Trains in any colour other than a shade of green feels more odd.

The refurbished cab cars still have that compartment.

I see. I still wonder whether those cab cars that were sent up there would have their cab controls reinstalled with the refurbishment.

Did you happen to get the numbers of any of the GO BiLevels?

It appears to be facing west, so it's facing the correct way.

This has me curious about the 13 diesel locos Metrolinx is supposed to be acquiring by 2024-2025. I'm assuming the reason why GO is rebuilding the old cab cars to lead trains again is so that they can be used in conjunction with the new locos. Yet there has been no news on them since the...

Or is it possible that we may finally see the end of the F59s on GO service? I mean they’d have to go eventually, and even though Metrolinx stated the F59s would not get replaced by the 13 locos they are planning on acquiring, plans could have changed now that the London Service is going to end.

GO 208 has been delivered to Mac Yard, expected to return back to GO’s hands within the next few days

I imagine the new electric won’t have dual ended cabs, since GO has all the consists have the cab car face west and loco face east.

So with the London service ending. I'm assuming that means the F59s will be repurposed for their original role of pulling the smaller 6 car trains?

Also I just realized. 204 was initially delivered facing east, but is now facing west, meaning it must have been wyed.

3 of the refurbished cab cars are lined up at Willowbrook, all facing west. Assuming those are 204, 207, and 212. 206 is away from all of them and still facing east.
