TTC: Flexity Streetcars Testing & Delivery (Bombardier)

Regarding bunching. I understand the drivers want to hit the stops at the appointed time. But if the cars are on a busy route and are ten mins apart whats the big deal if one arrives a minute or two early and the pax miss their connection? The next one is but a few minutes away. Of course if its...

TTC: Flexity Streetcars Testing & Delivery (Bombardier)

I guess the reason I'm confused is that the document mentions there was a detailed report issued for Q1. I don't remember reading anything but the aggregate target figure of 11, which has no more details than the rest of the year. Maybe there have been more detailed internal documents that...

TTC: Flexity Streetcars Testing & Delivery (Bombardier)

I'm intrigued by the notes in that CEO report mentioned above. It states the only detailed schedule is for Q1. I thought Bombardier had already commtted to 65 deliveries for 2018, with 17 of those for Q2?

So I guess it's sitting in the dock at the Bay?

It means they have finally shipped the last one they originally were supposed to ship by December lol.

Thanks to whoever deleted the rather vulgar one word post above!

The absence of a locomotive might be a bigger clue.

TTC: Flexity Streetcars Testing & Delivery (Bombardier)

4465 was delivered on Friday, making six for Q1 2018 at this point and completing 2017's (self-reduced) quota. With 6 weeks to go, looks like they are in good shape to ship the 11 total indicated above for Q1.

Since we are veering into the greater BBD universe might I add... The company seems to be doing better on the TTC contract but its only one piece of the pie. The CSeries still has an uncertain future to the point where some customers are threatening to cancel due to delays. That would likely...

TTC: Flexity Streetcars Testing & Delivery (Bombardier)

It seems like they really are pumping out more cars. Good on them for that! But I am a bit confused. Previous problems seemed to be with the supply chain letting them down according to statements in late 2017. But suddenly.....it's an assembly bottleneck, resolved by adding a new line? Again...

TTC: Flexity Streetcars Testing & Delivery (Bombardier)

Well said. Teething problems and initial startup delays can be expected and forgiven in the initial move from prototype to full production. BBD is well into the production cycle by now. Since Oct they have revamped their production quotas for 2017/18 from seventy plus seventy six, to sixty...

TTC: Flexity Streetcars Testing & Delivery (Bombardier)

There will probably be a lot of replies on this but here it is in a nutshell. City is forced to make a tough decision. Either stick with Bombardiers poor performance and their tone deafness about it or pay more money and wait longer for a competitor to make tbem. No matter which decision is made...

TTC: Flexity Streetcars Testing & Delivery (Bombardier)

Exactly. Officially they should have shipped 4468 by now, as there has been no revised schedule since October, only scattered textual updates. Did BBD push the reset button at 59 cars and simply add any cars arriving after Jan 1 into the 2018 total? Or are they officially starting at 4466 or...

TTC: Flexity Streetcars Testing & Delivery (Bombardier)

A few posts back there was mention of 11 cars delivered in 2018 Q1 and a cumulative total of 120 cars delivered by 12/31/18. I'm still not sure these figures have been carved in stone. If these are the official numbers then you should get 61 cars delivered FY 2018, starting with 4460 ending with...

TTC: Flexity Streetcars Testing & Delivery (Bombardier)

Afaik BBD delivered 4 in Sept, 4 in October, 3 in November and 6 in December totalling 17 for their best 4 month period to date in 2017. It reaches 20 only when you also add in the January/18 deliveries, but that would be over five months. If you wish to point out that so far, the January...

TTC: Flexity Streetcars Testing & Delivery (Bombardier)

I'm surprised TorStar is not reporting on this. They have been all over this file for more than a year. Andy Byford made some speculative estimates late last year which did not agree with the "official" schedule. Turns out he was only out by one. But I ask again...are these the official numbers...

TTC: Flexity Streetcars Testing & Delivery (Bombardier)

Is this official? BBD had already lowered their commitment from 70 + 76 for 2017/18 three times since October. Last update was not even a month ago, when they (incorrectly) insisted they were still on track to finish the contract on time in 2019. Now they have shaved another 15 off the 2018...

TTC: Flexity Streetcars Testing & Delivery (Bombardier)

Doors? I believe you, but how in the H E double hockey sticks does anyone do a QC process to check fit and operation of door/body construction if they are not built and shipped together? Five years ago I saw this first hand with a customer tasked to make door frames and surrounds. I think they...

TTC: Flexity Streetcars Testing & Delivery (Bombardier)

If I recall correctly, the frames/flooring are sourced ex Bombardier Mexico. (Any problems here cannot be pooh poohed as a "supplier issue" because this is a company division, not an outside source.) I think the bodies are subbed to a European source. There is a post mid-fall last year showing...
