    The Junction

I seem to have no luck with places that say they're open but are in fact closed. Third time attempting to try the gelato at More Gelato & Caffe - last weekend they were closed with the flu, reopening by Friday. Today I went back and they're closed till January... "The Coffee" in the base of...

Hehe well I walk by it every single day! But you could definitely take better photos of it :D

The auto body shop has finally been demolished and the lot is fenced off now! The pylons on the road are from a different project (railpath/davenport diamond work) so that entire stretch of Dupont is going to continue to be a mess for the foreseeable future.

Cycling: West Toronto Railpath (City of Toronto, Phase II Proposed)

A small update/upgrade: the south sidewalk of Dupont is back to being open, and freshly painted (for now). Hurray! I also noticed they repainted the half of the bridge that's complete, along with the lettering. Bridge segment still not open to peds though.

    It's a great question!

I know it's a temporary solution but the pedestrian walkway along Annette/Dupont under that bridge is a biohazard. The ammonia-like stench and number of dead pigeons under that bridge makes it very difficult to breathe, not to mention the blind corners and how dark and unsafe it feels at night...

    The Junction

Closed for the past week for renovations. :( What a week to be closed, with our 'unseasonably' warm October temps in the high 20s...

    Restaurant Comings & Goings

The best and most consistent fries in the city (IMO) were at The John on Bloor around Dufferin (R.I.P.). They closed without warning in August and there is zero info/no phone number/no updates to social media. Anyone have intel on what the heck happened here?

Railpath bridge (the upper one where Dundas/Annette/Dupont meet) is now closed - ETA December 2025.

You laugh, but Ruru Baked (albeit they already had a frothing customer base) opened in December 2021 and had lines out the door for months. However, as a Junction resident I can't see anyone lining up for this - on their website it says it'll be a café too, which would be a game changer for the...

    Toronto Pacific Residences | 28.3m | 8s | Old Stonehenge | Core Architects

First something has to be done about the man that feeds them whole loaves of bread from the community fridge. What a mess that corner is. Anything would be an improvement IMO. Popup markets, learn to ride a bike zone for kids or giant chess board in the lot.

Urgh. I'd love it if that ground floor unit could become a Shoppers again like it was circa early 2000s. The next nearest ones to the area are trash.

Toronto GO Transit: Davenport Diamond Grade Separation | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

That's my daily (walking commute)! Thanks for the heads up. I was actually wondering why the construction pylon and hole in the sidewalk had finally been removed/repaired a few weeks ago, it's because it's about to be closed entirely. It had become a bit of a local fixture - I think the pylon...

Is that happening in any of our lifetimes though? 🥴

Every day when I walk the northern stump of the Railpath I wonder the same thing! I did actually see people working on it (the rail part) today though - not sure what they were doing but there were workers present which hasn't usually been the case.
