Is the above ground section faster now, if so by how much??

The line doesn't seem that different from when when I rode it in the opening week, the between stations in the surface section I notice trains are moving a bit faster but the overall travel time I haven't noticed any improvements yet.

The floor is dirty. Garbage everywhere.

The massive snow melt meant everything was dirty yesterday. Stations entirely indoors had soaking wet and dirty platforms.

The solid white doesn’t help of course.

I've not timed it, so I can't give you a quantifiable metric. At least from looking at the clock when I arrive home, my trips (home, especially) seem a lot more consistent in terms of timing than they did before the line opened, or even that first week.

But in terms of feel, it feels like the trains don't stop as much. When they do stop at certain stations - O'Connor and Sloane, in particular - the stops feel longer, which is likely for time as I don't believe that they've re-timed the line yet.

I noticed this on my ride to the subway just a few minutes ago...I almost walked to Yonge after seeing this because I assumed there was a trespasser situation like last week.
Sure enough, a train did come but, this notice was on BOTH sides of the station. Is this really necessary? I'd much rather get an update on when the next train is coming, than a vague statement like the above.
I assume this is an error on part of software.

The overuse of white on every station is gonna make the line look like a wasteland in like 20 years... maybe 10 at this rate.

We sure arent designing Australia level colorful stations here but its a far cry still from line 5, minimalist, white is right station design.

We sure arent desing Australia level colorful stations but its a far cry still from line 5, minimalist, white is right station design.

Pape is a little better, but there are still many white surfaces especially in the mezzanine. Don Valley Station has even more.

Nope still disagree. Zoom into the renderer of don Valley and you'll see patterns on the walls that are clearly not white.

An estimated 7,300 people will use Moss Park Station during the busiest travel hour.

Has anyone noticed how dirty the line 5 stations are? I don't think they are cleaning them.

The grim is very much noticeable. Especially at the mezzanine at Eglinton. All that breakshoe dust is being sucked down the escalator from the north end platform of the Yonge line.

Because of complaints (by others) that TTC will be operating equipment (on Line 5) that's incompatible with each other. Hence a discussion that all big cities do this.

Though the tangents from people here fighting a 20-year old battle against not using conventional grade-separated equipment. Perhaps we need a thread for whining about the use of LRT and Ontario line technology, and the fantasy of what if they all could use TR-like equipment.

I think janitorial services are Crosslinx's responsibility so they will naturally will try to do this work as cheap as possible. And they are probably using a lowest-bidder contractor that pays minimum wage or close to it vs. the TTC's in-house janitors so they are getting what they paid for.

I’m curious if anyone has noticed service alerts announced on Line 5 for current disruptions on the other lines? Such as tonight for instance I got off at Cedervale to find that Line 1 has been down for a while with a mechanical problem and I didn’t remember hearing an announcement about it.
