Not much to report in terms of construction progress. They've finished the sound barrier installation, or at least a section of it, and all the work vehicles have vacated the site.

All that is well ends well. So, umpteen amount was spent on the East Harbour with no great definitive ridership on the horizon, while a sure win for a perpetually transit-challenged area got dumped by the wayside. *slow clap*

If this project has in fact been nixed, I want the City of Toronto to demand a full refund from Metrolinx of any dollars previously spent by the City on delivering it.
Mx had ample budget, and then some, to deliver what was asked of it...........

Don't get me wrong, I think there is great potential at East Harbour - but having city funding basically forced to build this one - when the developments haven't even materialized while dropping King-Liberty just tells you who provincial transit development under this government is intended to serve.
@Northern Light there is no need for it show East Harbour - there is not much by the way of population and dwellings in the baseline identified.

And we're still going forward with the absolutely useless Bloor-Lansdowne "SmartTrack" station? Sigh.
The Finch-Agincourt Station would have been another really useful connection that's now without funding.

While we can rightly discuss the relative utility of certain stations..........
I think we need to recall that they already had an extraordinarily high budget for relatively basic builds, that was fully funded.
The proximal issue here is Mx coming back to extort even more money from the City for already grossly over-funded work.
That the media is not expending more effort asking where all this money is going is a real issue.
