Toronto Eglinton Line 5 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

That is the West Toronto Diamond Grade Separation looking north at CP North Toronto Line with A CP local turning off it onto the MacTire sub to drop off an car at Metrolinx yard. There was never any plan to cover the 2 tunnels. Electrifying the line supports will be hung from the bracing above the tracks. The CP Bridge that goes over the 2 Weston Sub fly under tunnel with 2 tracks in them that will support 4 track compare to the current 2 for any future GO Crosstown Line.

Nitpick: That’s manifest freight 421, not a local - and the Crosstown car is headed to Thunder Bay for final assembly steps. Several folks spotted this one headed out.

I have stopped paying attention to individual car movements, but the initial assembly at Bath must be pretty far along at this point.

Why Is Oakwood station different from the rest?

Perchance to dream but I get a strange City Hall station vibe from that photo.

Why Is Oakwood station different from the rest?
I remember seeing something about using a knitted fabric as the basis for creating a concrete form. Essentially create custom-knit fabric to match requirement, assemble it on site with some rigid members to provide support/tension, then spray it with a light layer of concrete to make the form for a later pour. Seems like that kind of innovation would be useful compared to all this, or custom mill work.

Why was it mined? unlike the rest of the stations.

A couple of the stations had so many sub-surface utilities that it was decided that it would be easier to not have to dig them up and reroute them. Instead they simply dig past them and underneath. Oakwood is one of them - Laird and Avenue are the others.
