A giant transformer (Optimus prime) arrived yesterday and turned itself into a crane this morning.

It picked up several large, precision beams from several extendable flatbed trucks. They have articulated wheels that move independently making it very easy to get the beams from Lake Shore Blvd into the site near the portable crane. There are additional steel beams laying on the ground level around the portable crane

The portable crane lifted and placed a precision steel beam in a vertical position north of the northeast corner of the jack form, you can see the part of the beam in the left of this photo between the 'Hines' word and the ground

The view from Bay St near the Scotia Bank Arena (SBA) shows the beam as independent of the core with the specialized extension (just above the word Future) facing towards the steel framework of the soon to be elevated park

Beam me up, Scotty! And wow, that's a long beam. How will the beams be added for each floor? Will the cranes grow alongside the steel structure?
