A climate of extremes, we are subject to incredible variations of weather. Lacking natural barriers like the mountain chains of the west coast, there is nothing to block the influx of tropical heat from the south or arctic cold from the north. The violent collision of the two is what gives birth to the thunderstorms that tear across the province in the warmer months. However dangerous, they offer both relief from the heat and a brilliant show of light. Posted by Forum member tomms, this photo captures well the beauty and ferocity of these summer storms.
