Mississauga Hurontario-Main Line 10 LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

No chance it was ever going to be done this year - Eglinton and Finch have appeared ready to go for at least a year and still no opening date for either. Hurontario line is still really far from being complete

Is this project longer then the Eglinton crosstown?

No - phase 1 is about 18 km (with a single enclosed station) and 18 stops. Phase 1 of the Crosstown is 21 km (with 14 enclosed (13 underground) stations) and Phase 2 (to Renforth) is about 10 km with 7 underground or elevated stations.

Hurontario is more comparable to the 10-km Finch West line with 17 stops and 2 stations.

Thank you

It has more or less the stops as finch but it’s almost as long as eglinton. It’s really a mix if you asked me.

I thought the extended loop was in discussion not an actual done deal.

There haven't been many specifics since the announcement around this time last year, but they did add and include it in the Building Transit Faster Act and the various powers it would give to speed up construction and expropriation.

ONTARIO REGULATION 682/21

I assume while federal-provincial funding discussions take place, design work is happening behind the scenes. They would be starting from scratch for the longer Confederation portion.

At least Confederation makes way more sense than Duke of York. Confederation almost looks like a real street. I know it's a mirage, but as close as you can get outside of Port Credit or Streetsville. I'm not sure why it's so hard to re-create something Confederation-esqe in other parts of MCC.

I think my preference would have been living arts drive.

As for why can’t other streets mimic confederation. I think the problem is that confederation is pretty much complete where as other streets like living arts has some empty spaces for condo sales centres or parking lots. Same with Duke of York. When those parking lots go im confident what’s happened at confederation will more or less continue. The thing is the closer you get to the mall though the more likely people just go to the mall. But I remain optimistic that once all the parking lots are done it will be significantly better.

The reason the line goes to Confederation now is to be closer to M City and Parkside Village.

The sales office on D of Y was to have been Daniel last site for the area until they push it down the road for their Waterfront development and more when they hocked up with OMERS for the Square One projects.

With the market being on the slow side these days, the Daniel projects are getting push down the road more along with 3 other development sites for the area. Both Parkside Village and M City projects are seeing the same thing, then Parkside Village has been a slow project from day one..

All of my 2024 photos & Videos are now on line finally and should up today early next week or sooner.

Heading north from the Queensway on my way home, looks like the foundations for the OS poles and maybe something have been poured and cover up. Utilities work taking place by the sidewalk are at Floradale. I was expecting guideway work work be taking place starting this month to get ahead for the big push come spring.

As of January 23, Agnes intersection is close to northbound traffic and expecting guideway excavation will start from there to John St with the opening of the southbound curb lane. More retaining wall from the Bear Store plaza to John St.

The sound barrier that went up to blook access to the Townhouses and access to the side street has been removed. I guess there must have been a lot of noise over it going up. No idea what took place between the CP Bridge and the north end of the Townhouses as I saw no change and no one working in that area today. Otherwise, very little work taking place.

Looking at the new street light poles, they are higher than the existing ones as well the light is further out over the road.
