After more than a decade of drought Toronto has, in the past five years, seen some major construction of office space. New buildings put up during this period include RBC Dexia, Telus, Corus and Bay Adelaide. The fifth, and probably final for a while due to the economy, is 18 York Street or the Southcore Financial Centre & Delta Toronto. Developed by GWL Realty Advisors for bcIMC it will rise 26 storeys at the northwest corner of York and Bremner. The KPMB Architects designed tower is going to be the new home of PricewaterhouseCoopers. Here are some pictures taken recently by Red Mars of the construction progress. And to think that five years ago all four corners of this intersection were parking lots.
A rendering of what it will eventually look like.
