Toronto Residences at The Ritz-Carlton, Toronto | 207.86m | 53s | Graywood | Kohn Pedersen Fox

So I just got home from a vacation in Chicago... and wow! We are very lucky with our Ritz Carlton building... the Ritz Carlton Residences in Chicago looks absolutely terrible. It looks like they were trying to emulate the old beautiful Chicago buildings but using terrible new precast materials. I like our building even more after seeing what Chicago got!

Hah! i thought the same thing!! Some of the rooms look directly in to the Omni Hotel next door, talk about tight squeeze. i was in Chicago 2 weeks ago. But hey Chicago's Trump Tower is way better than our's, did you have drink on the 16th floor of Trump Terrace? You get one hell of a view from up there!!! kind of wishing Trump Toronto had some outdoor space like that.

This is not the Trump thread, but yes, the Trump does have an outdoor space: two of them in fact hanging off the south side at the 30th and 31st floors. The balconies there have incredible financial core views. Please check out the pics from a couple of months ago on the front page!

Yes i'm aware Trump has balconies, are they part of a condo unit or are they part of the restaurant space? Check out the outdoor space the Ritz Carlton residents get to enjoy!

I went to "Deq"; the bar/lounge located at the Ritz-Carlton last weekend for a birthday gathering. Walking through the lobby of the hotel, it's absolutely stunning.

I heard a rumour that those vulgar, droopy shock and awe chandeliers were actually salvaged from one of Saddam's minor palaces.

For me, the lack of a coherent vision with the finishes ( the chunkily chiselled treads on the wooden stairs combined with the sleek, vaguely deco-esque metalwork, for instance ... ) is the most awesomely shocking.

thanks for posting that!!! Thumbs up for the porn music!

I didn't realize how nice those recreational facilities were... the outdoor terrace has full ceiling glass, but an open air roof!!! It reminds me of the Burj Khalifa observation deck!!! And WOW, these spaces are HUGE!!!! almost built for giants!!! sometimes they even have a few chairs for huge spaces!!!... my only complaint was the hot tub was way too small... If a 300 pounder was in the tub, there would be no more water left in it.

I was not very impressed with the Main hall, lobby and general look of the first few floors. Just doesnt create that wow factor when you walk around.

Brad Pitt is staying at the Ritz. For anyone taking photo's please ask Brad to stand out of the way so we can get an clear view of the sign and entrance

sweeeet!... was he staying at the HYATT last year? (or another celebrity that decided to stay here this year)
Honestly, i think when most stars come to town, they will be stay at the Ritz.... I think the Ritz is more popular than Shangri-la, and Trump is not so much a hotel for entertaining.... If not, then probably Four Seasons.... But i think a lot of it depends on what purpose that they're in town,

But Shangri-la definitely has the best views out of all of them, cause the Four Seasons hotel views are too low in the tower for you to see much.

Yes, the 30th floor balcony is off of the restaurant, while the 31st floor balcony is off of the residential sky lobby. Like I said, check out the photos from the Trump tour we took a couple months back.

there are also a few balconies/terraces in the upper portion of the tower,

I find it so funny how self centred that upper balcony terrace is at the Ritz... it can be seen from miles away, and it's so prominent. yet, belongs to a single owner.... That space should have been used for a restaurant. in fact, THE ENTIRE upper floor a restaurant! It would be 360 restaurant looking down at Ritz restaurant, and vise versa.
