I guess these two inch drops are meant to be filled with water at some point?
Someone tripped on them as I was walking through.

They were working on the sound component as I was walking through.
One guy at the speakers, another with a laptop attached to the electronics bay further north.
No sound was actually coming out while I was there.

Yes. The fountains were on by the time of the opening ceremonies in the evening, but you could still walk through that reflecting pool area, not enough water had collected. I tripped on the edge of it too while filming.

No sound was actually coming out while I was there.

The sound was coming out by the time of the opening ceremony. You'll be able to hear it in part of a video we are putting up tomorrow. It's still requiring tweaks though; one of the columns was distorting on Saturday evening.

The water was working and the area did have water in it for the opening Saturday evening, but when I walked through Saturday morning when it was dry, "trip hazard" was the first thing I thought

I just took a stroll through there. The sound feature doesn't seem to be working -- does anyone know if it is supposed to run 24/7 or only at certain times? (There's currently loud road maintenance going on so not the greatest time to have gone for a listen!)

If the trees here grow at the same speed as those at Sugar Beach this will look even more impressive in a couple of years.

More inviting for a coffee shop or something on the edge of the park if there are descent sized trees

There is a coffee shop just across Gzowski on the SW side of the park: https://www.facebook.com/cafeParisco/timeline More than just a coffee shop, actually, they serve lunch, and this week they will be starting with wine tastings!

It was running as a demo on Saturday night. There's still more to be done on it before it goes live 24/7.

Kids (and Dads) certainly love jumping from bench to bench. The ure-tech surface is hard to the touch, but still cushioned to walk on.

Garden Club of Toronto President Ellen Carr speaks to the crowd. It was the Garden Club of TO who did the plantings and raised a lot of money for them.

Ellen Carr, with June Callwood's daughter writer Jill Frayne, and Mike Layton cut the Garden Club's ribbon to open the park.

Shadowlands Theatre begins a tour of the park's features.

I was told that it gets softer in the warmer weather. I was surprised to find out how hard it was.

I was surprised too! When you touch it with your hand, it doesn't give away the fact that it's going to feel soft to walk on. As a kid, or an adult, I wouldn't want to find out how hard it feels if you fell, jumping between the rubberized benches.

I'm looking forward to roaming around the park during the daytime when it will have a totally different feel from the chilly evening opening! Looking forward to having the trees and hedge maze grow in over a couple of years too.

I strolled around this park today. My general impression was that the colour was a much needed addition to the area and that there are actually a lot of trees that will make for a fantastic space in a few years when they fill out. The stone patterns were pleasing and make interesting strolling paths through the trees while the maze is a unique addition that will tie in both functionally and aesthetically when grown.
