Doolittle and Dale have an article in today's Star about the emails. I can't post the link cause I'm on my way out so hopefully someone else can.

--->Article in question.

Here's an relatively minute but still interesting little tidbit.

...Ford was fired as the football coach at Don Bosco on May 22. According to police documents whose contents have not been proven in court, Ford was distraught, and he wanted aides to help him quickly organize a party for the players. Towhey refused...

It stands out slightly that Ford, upon hearing that he would no longer be coaching the players, rushed to organize a 'party' (meeting), between he and them. What did he need to say to them? It's a small thing to highlight, but it adds to the notion that the optics of coaching football might not be the whole story.

I remember reading about this months ago. My impression was that losing the coaching gig was something that really hurt Ford. I think coaching football is one of the few things (aside from alcohol and drugs) that he genuinely enjoys doing. My guess is he wanted to meet with the team one last time to say goodbye.

City councillors approved the changes in February 2012 in a 24-1 vote — around 20 council members were absent at the time, including Mayor Ford.

But according to Ford nationalists, it doesn't matter that Ford's record of attendance was low because he was there for all of the important votes. This was passed almost two years ago, and Ford being so fantastic at his job is just aware of it now. I seriously doubt that his staff didn't report all of the votes that happen at council meetings when Ford isn't present. This ignorance is his own damn fault.

BB: This one sort of puzzled me at first - but after reading this and then realizing that this is based
on Billy Joel's "We Didn't Start the Fire" I think that this one could actually be a neat Ford protest song...

Not only is Billy Joel from Long Island -as I am - this happens to be one of my all-time favorite songs
written and sung by him...

Random Question: Does anyone have theories on why Robin Doolittle was chosen as the initial Toronto Star reporter to be contacted by the video broker?

Don't get me wrong - I'm happy she did... But I've often wondered why her specifically?

I'm luvvin these e-mail tweets from Don Peat but have to admit I didn't catch the joke or reference here. Could someone please explain this one to me :eek: :

Okay - just googled "poets day" - had been thinking that poets was a preferred brand of alcohol. It stands for "Piss Off Early, Tomorrow's Saturday" and the implication being that our tax dollars aren't exactly hard at work here. Got it.

Because she's hot.
