Success getting taller, the leaves turning faster, the weather turning colder, blah blah blah.

Coming into the island airport on Porter the other night, RBC stands out as totally unique by night compared to the other towers, for its almost complete transparancy when seen side-on. This effect will no doubt be significantly diminished when it fills up with office junk - this is prime photo-taking time...

To play around a bit with Le Corbusier here, RBC strikes me as a vase for working in. I too fear it will lose much of its amazing transparency as it fills up... but it should still have hints of it when it is fully occupied: we've never had a building go up quite like this one before, so it should still stand out once it is occupied.

I agree though - hopefully cameras will capture this building between the time the top is completed and when the offices move in, so we get lots of shots of it as its transparent, vase-like, best.

^ The answer is simple. Insist that every piece of partition and office furniture that goes into RBC be transparent too. Plexiglass chairs for everybody!

Great updates Wylie.

One of the things that bother me about this building is random addition of light colored panels in between the windows on the podium. I think it distracts from the clean, sleek look.

Note in the zoomed up photo that the slit (I can't think of a better word) is pulling back towards the crown with the last layer of concrete poured - so that it will curve back outward in the last couple of floors.

I love the subtle changes in form and shape at the base of the tower courtesy of KPF:
