From the RBC web site:

September 2008

Construction continues on schedule. Concrete slabs are being poured for floor levels 42 and 43 (mechanical floors). Curtain wall installation in the tower continues on levels 33, 34, 35 and 36 and will be completed in the podium. Elevator installation continues in the high rise, mid rise and service elevator banks. Mechanical and electrical trades continue with their rough ins throughout the tower floors including lighting, fire alarm and sprinkler systems. Installation of access flooring in the typical office floor areas will start and proceed up the building on levels 7, 8, 9, and 10. Installation of the exterior stone wall will be completed on the south side. Ground floor glazing will be complete. The feature stair in the podium on the Wellington Street side will be complete.

Looks like they will be attaching something to the facade on the north side of the podium.

Attaching something to the facade... hmmm what could it possibly be? Nothing in the renders suggests they were going to be doing that. Maybe some led lighting? Signage?

In some of the renderings, there appears to be metal fins that will be attached and I think there are pictures on the website. Should look really sleek when complete.

Everything else shown in the renderings has come to pass... so I remain confident that The Cheapening™ will not diminish this project.

Quick question:

What are those planks sticking out of the side of buildings under construction? I see them on buildings UC all over these forums and I never know what they're for. U can see one clearly with a working standing on it in the pic above.

Those rather dramatic temporary balconies are there so that construction materials can be delivered to those floors by crane.
