September, 2026 brought a growing focus on rental housing, changes to transit service, and continued progress on Toronto’s skyline. Proposals in Etobicoke, Markham, and Richmond Hill highlighted the continued turn from condos to purpose-built rentals, while plans in Ajax and at Yonge and St Clair pointed to denser neighbourhoods across the region. Operational improvements on Finch West Line 6, and the Scarborough Busway’s opening were good news, but GO service cuts were concerning on both the Front Page and in Forum discussions. Toronto’s tallest towers continued to fight it out for top ranking, with Pinnacle One Yonge holding first place among Database files as One Bloor West reclaimed the top Forum spot and Forma climbed both lists.

Let’s review our top news stories, Database files, and Forum threads from September, 2026.
