8 Brownlow Avenue is close to topping off in Midtown Toronto’s Yonge and Eglinton area, with cladding now covering much of the 27-storey rental tower. Designed by Sweeny &Co Architects for The Benvenuto Group, the development rises at the northwest corner of Brownlow and Soudan avenues alongside the developer’s first phase, The Whitney on Redpath.

In April 2026, the south elevation revealed its emerging concrete frame, with exposed columns and floor slabs supported by rows of yellow shoring posts. Projecting slab formwork and temporary edge guards line the upper levels, while steel stud framing and white weatherproofing mark the start of enclosure work below, alongside blue weatherproofing strips. Workers occupy the ground and second floors. In the foreground, a fenced opening exposes P1, the uppermost of three underground levels. Materials can be seen staged below; additional components fill the staging area along the site’s south side.

From Soudan Avenue in June, 2026, the structure stood at 16 storeys, with timber decking and perimeter slab edge forms in place for the next floor. At the southeast corner, the external construction hoist extended to the 12th floor. Enclosure work had advanced to the ninth floor, where white and grey aluminum panels frame dark vision and spandrel glazing, with mullions and metal louvres. At the base, the three-storey podium extends west towards The Whitney on Redpath, with glazing and insulation seen behind the hoarding.

In late July, 2026, the north and east elevations reached 21 storeys, with cladding reaching the 14th floor. On the east elevation to the left, two stacks of projecting concrete balcony slabs flank a central stack of inset balconies. White metal fascia panels accentuate the slab edges, contrasting with dark window wall glazing behind. The north elevation pairs vision and spandrel glass with white and grey metal panels.

A distant view in August, 2026 places 8 Brownlow Avenue within its surroundings. Formwork panels and projecting rebar rise above the latest floor deck, while the luffing-jib tower crane stands along the east side. Just above the tree canopy, installed glazing and white metal panels trace the advancing building envelope beneath the exposed upper storeys.

Earlier this month, cladding has advanced to the 20th floor. At street level, ground-floor curtain wall glazing is taking shape within a grid of mullions, with exposed insulation panels above and blue weatherproofing along the second-floor slab edge. Higher up, glass balcony guards have been installed along the fourth-floor balconies, with installation partially complete on the fifth.

This latest elevated view captures construction at the mechanical penthouse level, with what appears to be the concrete elevator core overrun projecting to the right of the tower crane. The mechanical penthouse rises above the thicker main roof slab. Two step-backs along the south elevation, to the right, taper the upper floors. Cladding has meanwhile climbed to approximately the 23rd floor.

Upon completion, 8 Brownlow Avenue will stand 95.4m tall and add 194 purpose-built rental units to Midtown Toronto.
