Toronto may still be nursing its heartbreak after the Blue Jays’ dramatic Game 7 loss, but the sting was tempered by the shared joy of seeing the city rally behind the team. That same mix of pride and resilience carried through UrbanToronto’s coverage in October, 2025. Transit once again tied many stories together, from GO Expansion and the TTC’s assumption of the Finch West Line 6 LRT to the Ontario Line 3’s progress, while new high-rise proposals continued to reshape the skyline at Yonge and St Clair, One Yonge, and Cooksville GO. Across our Database, Forum, and Threads, discussions and searches gravitated toward transit and megaprojects like One Bloor West, Quayside, and Forma.

Let's review our top stories, database files, and threads for October, 2025.

At #16, renewed interest surrounded Quayside, where Dream Unlimited and Great Gulf submitted a major revision to the master plan on the East Bayfront. The update reorganizes phasing to prioritize rental and affordable housing in the first phase, deferring condominiums to later stages. New Site Plan applications refine the tower forms as part of Quayside’s next step toward construction along the Lake Shore–Queens Quay corridor.
