As Toronto grows denser and taller, new development is occurring all across the city. For decades, Tridel has played a pivotal role in shaping the residential landscape of North York, consistently contributing to its growth and transformation. Now the developer is returning to the heart of the Newtonbrook neighbourhood with 6080 Yonge Street. The development, a collaboration with Arkfield, aims to offer a fresh take on contemporary condominium living.

6080 Yonge Street, designed by DIALOG for Tridel and Arkfield

Positioned along the dynamic Yonge Street corridor, the development will immerse residents in its unique energy and vibrant lifestyle. Once hyped as the world's longest street, Yonge Street has been Toronto's principal north-south artery since the 1800s. Its vibrant tapestry in this area features an eclectic mix of boutiques, big-box retailers, eateries, and recreational venues, and creates a fun setting for urban living.

Designed by DIALOG, the 14-storey mixed-use condominium building combines elegance and functionality. Located at the southwest corner of Yonge Street and Homewood Avenue, the design is intended as a nod to modern urban aesthetics. Its mix of dark grey brick and mullions along with white metal framing, distinguishes itself through a unique interplay of recessed and projecting balconies, rhythmically breaking up the building's massing, and granting residents generous outdoor living spaces.

Set to stand 53.8m tall, the building will house 246 units, offering a mix of studio, one-bedroom, two-bedroom, and three-bedroom layouts, meeting the street with a three-to-seven-storey L-shaped podium, aligning with the Yonge-Homewood intersection. Seven townhouse units face Homewood Avenue, integrating the new structure into the existing urban fabric of the neighbourhood.

South of Finch Avenue, residents will find Cineplex Cinemas, a public library, golf courses, and more, while the Newtonbrook locale ensures residents are never far from recreation; surrounding the site are green spaces such as Goulding Park and Central Park.

As a 14-time recipient of the Green Builder of the Year Award from the Building Industry and Land Development Association (BILD), Tridel has responded to the City of Toronto's increasing push for greener buildings. The site will feature 175 bicycle parking spots, as well as 25 short-term spaces. In addition, a three-level underground garage accommodates 183 parking spaces, reserving six for retail purposes and five for visitors. With 6080 Yonge's location walking distance to a station on the upcoming Yonge North Subway Extension, residents are assured smooth commutes.

Residents will have access to a bevy of amenities. Fitness enthusiasts can revel in a state-of-the-art fitness centre and a dedicated yoga/stretch studio. Co-working spaces cater to professionals, while the party room and dining room promise memorable gatherings. The outdoor lounge and barbecue area, complemented by a kids' play zone and pet wash, ensure every family member, furry ones included, has a space.

The incorporation of Tridel Connect® further enhances the living experience, bringing in innovations like hands-free entry, automated parcel delivery, and smartphone home access. Residents can access the app to adjust their in-suite temperature and call the front desk. Using their smartphone, residents can unlock doors throughout the amenities, ensuring easy access.

Tridel and Arkfield intend that their collaboration on this project offers a lifestyle that truly embodies the essence of modern urban living; 6080 Yonge Street, with its unique design, bevy of amenities, and convenient location, is targeted to redefine luxury living in North York.
