Yesterday's Daily Photo featured a dramatic view of this project, ROQ City, from the southeast. The name is a reference to Richmond, Ontario, and Queen streets that border the site on the east side of Downtown. Today, another UrbanToronto Forum contributor, richsherb, has another ROQ City construction image for us, but from the southwest this time. Both photos have featured drama in the late summer skies, this one bathed in a muted warmth from the late day sun. The glow softly touches on both the heritage red brick walls of the former warehouse on the ROQ City site that will be incorporated into the new housing being built here, as well as the oxidized-copper-green of the steel scaffold supporting those walls during construction. In the background, the orange brick of TCHC's Moss Park Apartments is another reminder of how much warmer the city feels in areas where masonry outflanks glass.
