The final pair of towers in Concord Adex's CityPlace community has made notable vertical progress through 2023. Situated at the northeast corner of Spadina Avenue and Bremner Boulevard, Concord Canada House will rise to soaring counts of 64 and 74 storeys in the heart of Downtown Toronto. The towers, designed by Arcadis — the Amsterdam-based global firm that acquired Toronto-based IBI Group in Fall 2022 — symbolize the culmination of a two-decade-long master-planned endeavour.

Our previous update in January revealed the towers to have risen to about 40 storeys each.

Now, with the towers are much closer to their final heights, and are firmly taking their place in the local skyline. By May, below, looking northwest from the juncture of Bremner Boulevard and Navy Wharf Court, the podium's south elevation is draped with the emerging building envelopewith just balcony glass to complete on the top floor along with the glass wall that will surround the podium-top amenity terrace. Silhouetted against blue skies, two cranes extend their booms southward, symbols of ongoing ascent.

A month later, in June, we are presented with a distant southward view down Charlotte Street from just north of King Street. The ascent of the eastern tower is reshaping its local skyline, surpassing the height of its immediate neighbours. Noteworthy is one of the tower's double-height, mid-tower mechanical and electrical rooms.

An image from July looks southeast from the Spadina Avenue bridge over the railway corridor. While the floor-to-ceiling glazing of the double-height amenity space gets closer to completion, the visual narrative unfolds with the building envelope's continued ascent on the north elevation: an otherwise dark exterior envelope is contrasted in places by white horizontal lines. These lines, which will eventually illuminate the nightscape as seen in the rendering at the top of this story, will trace the shape of Canada's emblematic maple leaf.

A snapshot from August offers a northwestward view taken during a trip along the Gardiner Expressway; Concord Canada House has now bookmarks the skyline to the west of the Rogers Centre. In this race to the top, the west tower inches ahead of its eastern counterpart to its eventual final storey count of 74.

As summer draws to a close in September, we get a southward aerial view, capturing the construction with approximately 15 floors yet to be formed. Toronto's downtown construction frenzy is metaphorically captured with intersecting cranes — one at the forefront for 400 King Street West framing the image, and those towering over the Concord Canada House.

Upon completion, the two towers are set to reach heights of 202.97m and 231.97m. Housing a total of 1,397 residential units between them, the project is slated for a 2024 opening.
