In the Toronto neighbourhood of Bayview Village, a new, nature-centric master-planned community known as The Residences at Central Park is taking shape. Developed by Amexon Development Corporation and designed by Core Architects, the project is under construction at 1200 Sheppard Avenue East. The developer is intending to blend urban convenience with the natural world.

This residential and commercial development, featuring five buildings ranging from 12 to 31 storeys and nearly 1,500 new units, will bring a mixed-use development featuring residential, commercial, and public space. The location, adjacent to the Leslie subway station, Oriole GO station, and nestled beside East Don parkland that courses through much of North York, offers residents the best of both worlds; urban conveniences right at their doorstep, and the serenity of a sprawling, forested ravine.

In the year since the launch of Amexon's stylish presentation centre, notable progress has been made. The site has undergone early preparations for the first phase of construction, focusing on the 31-storey Tower One. The project, greeted with immense positivity by homebuyers, is now ready for the next stage.

A series of images captured on July 22nd gives a clear sense of progress since our June update when the site was being cleared. Looking southeast with the levelled ground now fully prepared, a yellow crane stands prominently with its jib poised in anticipation. A green shoring rig and a red excavator punctuate the western backdrop, while a yellow shorting rig stands by the trees to the east, all signifying the imminent commencement of significant construction activities.

A view from the east reveals two excavators — a larger red one and a smaller yellow one, parked side by side. Behind them, red traffic cones stand out against the undulating mounds of earth, with recently built condos along Don Mills Road forming the eastern skyline and providing a stark urban contrast in the background.

Looking north with one of Central Park's office buildings in the background, we get a different perspective on the yellow crane, poised to work at the site of Tower One. Closer to us, the green shoring rig, its drill bit slightly buried in the ground, is ready to take on its first work. Another shoring machine lurks in the background, primed to contribute to the site's transformation.

As we approach the next stages of construction, the focus will shift to excavation and the forming of the underground parking garage as part of phase one. The presence of shoring rigs is a clear signal that work on this phase is imminent, paving the way for the vertical rise of the first of the four planned residential towers.
