St Paul's Italian United Church on Ossington Avenue in Toronto's Davenport Village area was declared surplus by the United Church of Canada in the first century of the new millennium, and was converted to affordable housing, with 20 apartments having opened within the renovated building in 2012. Now, another 25 units could be brought to the site in a new development that is proposed to be constructed on the property.

R-Hauz Services Inc has submitted a Site Plan Approval application to the City of Toronto to permit the creation of 25 new permanent affordable housing units, with new amenity and office space at 1120 Ossington Avenue, just north of Geary Avenue.

The proposed development has received funding through the Canadian Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) Rapid Housing Initiative (RHI) to support the creation of new permanent affordable housing units, which we covered recently

The proposed development is a three-storey mass timber residential building designed by Smart Density. The ground floor would front onto Ossington with seven self-contained residential units, as well as new amenity and office space. The second and third floors would consist of an additional 18 self-contained residential units. The proposed development does not include a basement or any underground components.

We will continue to follow progress on the development, but in the meantime, you can learn more about it from our Database file, linked below. If you'd like, you can join in on the conversation in the associated Project Forum thread, or leave a comment in the space provided on this page.
