Cars are lined up on Jarvis Street, stopped at the lights at King, in this image by UrbanToronto Forum contributor urbanexplorer. The photo is not so much about traffic though as it is about the rhythm of the buildings on this stretch, the venerable, limestone column-lined Canadian Bank of Commerce branch in the right foreground, followed by the double-cupolaed St Lawrence Hall south of it, and now joined, further in the distance, by the new St Lawrence Market North building, currently under construction at Front Street. Even as the new addition is a floor taller, you can position a ruler on your screen along the datum line that all three buildings' cornices share: built across centuries, they look like they have always meant to be together.
