Mattamy Homes — primarily known for building suburban single-family dwellings — has a new condominium coming to Burlington, just west of Toronto. Mattamy proudly states that Martha James Condominiums “blends small town charm with urban convenience.” Just steps from the shops of downtown Burlington, and equidistant to the shore of Lake Ontario, the development emphasizes unrivalled amenities, inside and out.
Designed by Graziani + Corazza Architects, this 13-storey, 11,700 m² building is targeted for completion in 2024. Martha James Condominiums is named for its location, set in a mature park-side neighbourhood at the intersection of Martha and James streets. From there, it's a short walk to bustling Brant Street or the lakefront, Brant Street Pier, and the surrounding parks and trails. The community location offers quick access to a number of major transportation links such as the QEW, Highways 403 and 407, while Burlington GO station is a five minute drive north of the development. With Toronto a 40-minute commute away, it’s perfect for those seeking a relaxed lifestyle with the conveniences of an urban setting.
This new residential development will house a total of 150 residential units, ranging from one-bedroom to two-bedroom plus den suites. Residents will be able to enjoy two floors of residential amenities, from fitness and co-working spaces to a generous rooftop deck for sunbathing and summertime barbecues.
The architecture firm’s in-house design studio, Graziani + Corazza + Biase (GCB) Interior Architecture Inc. have outfitted the building with amenity spaces featuring a soft, natural palette and a residential vibe, with a careful attention to detail.
Situated at the southeast corner of the intersection, the building entry gives way to a spacious lobby with concierge service. The flexible, well-appointed lounge offers co-working spaces as well as social areas and private dining; the space seamlessly transitions into the ideal spot to entertain. To keep your physical and mental well-being at its peak, the building also features a Fitness Centre, equipped with an interactive fitness studio.
The rooftop of Martha James offers other opportunities to calm the body and mind with a private yoga deck, a sundeck lounge, and a community garden for those who aren’t afraid to get their hands dirty. There’s even a co-working space, if you want "to inject some sunshine into your busy schedule," as Mattamy has put it. The rooftop lounge with its expansive lake views, "provides the perfect backdrop for alfresco dining, or simply unwinding.”
A similar level of attention to detail and quality of finishes is being given to the residential suites, each of which boasts nine foot ceilings, sleek cabinetry, and open concept layouts. An abundance of windows ensures all suites will be light-filled.
