Just east of Wilson subway station in the Toronto borough of North York, the construction of Collecdev's Nordic Condos has been continuing to progress, with another major addition to the equipment at the site since our last story: at the far west end of the pit, excavation has been completed and a third tower crane has been installed, allowing forming activity to advance at that end of the site.
When we last checked in on the site in mid-July, the first crane was working away on the walls and columns of the two-level underground garage's P1 level at the east end of the pit, and a second crane was ready to be installed in the centre. Now, at the east end of the site, the P1 slab has been completed with columns rising from it, while forms for the exterior and interior walls are on site. Closer to the centre of the site, the P1 slab is still to be constructed.
Designed by gh3 for Collecdev, Nordic's buildings will each rise 12 storeys, topping off at 41 metres high over Wilson Avenue. The complex will bring 429 condominium units to the area, while also replacing the 160 rental units from demolished buildings with new rental suites.
