As a proposed 55-storey condominium tower at Yonge and Wellesley advances through the final steps of Toronto's planning process, the start of marketing for condo units is revealing details about the project known as 8 Wellesley Residences at Yonge. The CentreCourt and Bazis project would be set apart from surrounding towers with a sloped facades and other architectural features like a prominent lightbox crowning its east facade.
The IBI Group-design plays heavily into the project's marketing, notably in a south-facing rendering looking through the glazing of the tower's north elevation. All in one rendering, this view offers a closer look at the upper reaches of the building's articulated east facade, the angled concrete columns of the tapering floor-plates behind them, and the suite interiors, all while hinting at residents' spectacular views.
The new renderings also provide a glimpse into the building's common spaces and amenity areas, which are to be appointed by figure3 Interior Design. The lobby with concierge desk is pictured below. Amenities housed on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th floors will include a fitness centre, a co-working space, a guest suite, and an outdoor terrace.
8 Wellesley is set to introduce 599 residences to the fast-growing neighbourhood. Set to go on sale in early 2021, suites in the project will be available in studio to three-bedroom layouts ranging in size from 315 to 1,300 ft².
