Construction is in full swing at the site of Diamante Development's Mirabella Condominiums, a twin-tower condominium complex being built at Lake Shore Boulevard West and Windermere Drive at the foot of Toronto's Swansea neighbourhood. Work on the Scott Shields Architects-designed condominium development has been underway since mid-2019, and over a year into construction, a massive podium has emerged to support the 38-storey towers that will become a prominent feature on the skyline extending east of the mouth of the Humber River.

Since the start of construction, milestones in the project have included the start of shoring activity in June, 2019, followed by a minimal excavation, with two cranes standing over the site by the end of the year. A 2019 Minor Variance was approved with construction already active, granting an increase in podium height. Into 2020, forming has progressed for the building's enormous podium, set to contain the complex's parking levels above grade.

The desire to place parking above grade was justified in a 2017 planning report stating "it will reduce the need for major excavation on a site which is close to the water, next to a public highway and is challenged from a geotechnical perspective as any below-grade construction could potentially cause instability to the highway."

As a result of the Minor Variance's approval, the podium now stretches beyond the six-storey height shown in renderings, with crews currently forming the ninth floor. According to the revised Minor Variance plans, this will mark the final level of the podium before breaking off into two individual tower volumes, set to reach heights of just over 120 metres.
