Construction of the architectsAlliance-designed St. Lawrence Condos at 158 Front has made strides in Downtown Toronto since our previous update in March, when the first precast panels with ironspot brick veneers had been applied to the podium. Developed by Cityzen Development Group and Fernbrook Homes and continuing to rise at the northwest corner of Sherbourne and Front streets, the project will bring a pair of 26-storey residential towers to a site formerly occupied by a Greyhound Bus facility.

When we last checked in on construction progress, forming for the podium levels were taking place as the charcoal-coloured cladding made its debut. Crews have made significant headway since, as glazing panels now begin to facilitate the podium's architectural expression.

Above the ground-level retail space, six- and eight-storey volumes on the west and east portions of the property will sport the ironspot brick treatment. Step backs are then instituted before the podium—switching to expanses of window wall and inset balconies—culminates at 13 storeys. The towers are now climbing from this point, with cantilevered four-storey elements to serve as the building crowns.
