Edilcan's Valhalla Town Square is rapidly progressing north of Bloor Street and The East Mall in Etobicoke, near the western edge of Toronto. Three buildings are currently under construction in what will eventually be a five-building, IBI Group-designed community, containing over 1,400 new residential units. The current phases underway include a 33-storey condominium tower along with a pair of ten-storey mid-rises, with additional buildings working their way through the City's planning and approvals process.

We last checked in on construction at the end of January, when the 33-storey building stood roughly halfway towards its final height, one of the mid-rise buildings had just topped out at 10 storeys, and the second mid-rise was rising a few levels above grade. It's been a busy few months of construction since then, with plenty of visible progress recorded despite some work restrictions due to the COVID-19 situation.

The three buildings are each in a different stage of construction. The 33-storey tower is fast approaching its summit, with forming reaching the 33rd and last residential floor, to be followed by a mechanical penthouse that will bring the tower to its final 121.9-metre height. Cladding installation has also progressed quite a bit in the last few months, with the tower's window wall cladding installed as high as the 24th floor, and balconies clad as high as the 21st floor.

East of the tower, the northern of the two mid-rises had just topped out when we last checked in at the end of January, and cladding has largely enclosed its exterior in the months since. Much further along than its siblings, this building is expected to be the first within the community to welcome residents.

South of it, the second mid-rise is rapidly closing in on its final height as crews form the tenth and final residential floor. A mechanical penthouse will follow, with the building to top out at the same 35.36-metre height as the north mid-rise.

As construction progresses on the current phases, the community's next buildings—40 and 44-storey condo towers, both rising from a shared four-storey podium—advanced with a revised planning submission at the end of 2019. These new additions will feature a design that complements the first phase's 33-storey condo tower, with a massing that includes three-sided floorplates with rounded corners.
