Menkes Developments redevelopment of the LCBO Lands is in full swing on Toronto's waterfront, set to eventually build out the site between Queens Quay East and Lake Shore with 4.6 million ft² of new office, condo, and retail space. The initial phases of this community are well under construction, bringing a 25-storey office tower to Queens Quay and a pair of condo towers rising 64 and 70 storeys to Lake Shore Boulevard.

The first of these to begin construction was the 25-storey, B+H Architects-designed office tower at 100 Queens Quay East just over two years ago. In the 25 months since construction began, the building's three-storey podium, and the first several tower floors above have been formed. Now standing 12 storeys tall, with walls and columns emerging for the 13th floor, the building is approximately halfway towards its final height of 117 metres.

The first panels of cladding were spotted at the end of 2019, with seafoam green curtainwall glazing along the podium levels. These materials now cover large expanses of the podium, and have since been joined by the first panels of tower cladding, a darker-toned curtainwall true to the aesthetic shown off in renderings during the planning process.

Immediately north of the rising office tower, the architectsAlliance-designed Sugar Wharf Condos Phase 1 complex has much further to go, as forming of the first few podium levels progresses. The podium is furthest along at the south end, close to the future Harbour Street extension. Here, crews are making preparations to pour the third floor. The sizable footprint of the podium, along with the complicated layouts of service areas and amenities concentrated on lower levels results in slower visible progress, though the condo towers' future site is still very much a hive of activity.
