Just over a year and a half ago, Marlin Spring Developments celebrated the start of construction on WestBeach Condominiums at 1630 Queen Street East, just east of Coxwell Avenue in Toronto's Beach Triangle area. The six-storey, Graziani + Corazza Architects-designed condo development has progressed a great deal since work began, and is now sitting just shy of its final height.

The project celebrated a milestone less than 14 months after the March, 2018 ground breaking when concrete rose above grade. Progress has been steady in the months since, with the project reaching the three-storey mark in August, with crews now beginning to form the sixth and final residential floor. A mechanical penthouse and amenity level will follow to bring the mid-rise to its full height.

As the building approaches structural completion, cladding installation will commence shortly. Architectural plans indicate the building will be finished in a mix of white precast panels, brick, clear window wall and balcony glazing, as well as spandrel panels and bird-friendly glass on lower levels.

Once complete, the new project will contribute to the expansion of the retail stretch along Queen Street East with three street-fronting retail units totalling 726 m² of space. Above them will be 89 condominium units.
