Among the many shopping malls and plazas across the Greater Toronto Area undergoing major redevelopments or about to, Humbertown Shopping Centre in Etobicoke will over the coming years be replaced by a multi-phased, mixed-use community. The redevelopment, starting with a first phase condominium building named Edenbridge on the Kingsway from Tridel and First Capital Realty, will build out the mall property to include residential, office, and public spaces while retaining and expanding the existing retail on site.

The 9-storey building designed by Kirkor Architects will rise along the mall's The Kingsway frontage, just northwest of where Dundas and Royal York meet. Renderings depict mostly punched windows framed by brick and precast, with the uppermost levels clad primarily in glass curtainwall. Approximately 7,600 square feet of new retail space will front the sidewalks here.

A total of 183 suites and 24 townhomes are included in the building, with additional details about suite layouts and finishes expected to be rolled out in the near future. These suites are targeting a tentative occupancy in 2023, and include parking for suites over $1M. Transit going by site heads to Royal York station.

Details of the amenities and common spaces is still emerging, though a few renderings offer a glimpse of some of the building's interiors by II BY IV DESIGN. Below, the Grand Lobby space and the outdoor English Garden amenity are among the renderings currently released. Landscape architecture is by Forrec.
