University of Toronto’s Trinity College has submitted a rezoning application for a new mixed-use academic building located at 6 Hoskin Avenue, directly south of the school’s Varsity Centre multi-purpose field. 350 university residence beds would be housed on the building’s 3rd through 14th levels, rising above a two-storey academic podium.

Massing designs by Alan Ng Architect and The Finlayson Practice were included in the application. Rising 52 metres, the tower's built form consists of a U shaped podium, which steps back into an L shape at the 3rd storey, and again into a slab tower at the 10th level. A terrace and green roof would be accessible just outside the first residence level.

The planning rationale states that “Trinity College has entered into a selection process for an architect and design team for the project. The design illustrated in these documents is not crafted to permit a specific building design. Rather, it is intended as a built form strategy only”. In other words, any design elements illustrated in these renderings are not indicative of the final design for this project, but that final massing may be similar.
