As sales press on for Devron Developments' The Vanguard, new details have emerged about the Kirkor Architects-designed 25-storey condominium development coming to Yonge Street in Thornhill. Replacing a now closed retail plaza at Yonge and Grandview Avenue, the project features new street-level retail, along with a collection of environmentally friendly amenities that cater to the changing needs of suburban lifestyles.
We took an initial look at the project's amenity offerings in May, and since then, new information provides a better look at the common spaces and features that will serve residents. The Vanguard will feature a children's play room, a lounge, a library, a theatre, a community garden, and an indoor/outdoor yoga studio, with the amenities split between the first and third floors of the podium.
Featuring two saunas, energy harnessing fitness equipment, and weights, the fitness centre will occupy a sizeable portion of the 3rd floor. The facility will be flanked by the indoor/outdoor yoga studio on one side, with change rooms and saunas on the other.
Meanwhile, the yoga studio's outdoor component is bordered by a 6000 ft² outdoor terrace containing a community garden. The garden features barbecues with prep tables, a fire pit, and dining spaces, with perimeter hedges for privacy.
A party room/lounge space will include a large central dining table, as well as a wet bar, a catering kitchen and a library, all accompanied by ample seating. Next to the library, a private theatre will allow guests to enjoy film screenings, while the incorporation of acoustic panels will insulate nearby suites from unwanted noise.
Offering layouts with as many as four bedrooms, The Vanguard is clearly targeting the family demographic. To better suit families with small children, the development will include a play room with a tree house and a chalkboard wall.
In addition to all the amenities mentioned above, The Vanguard will also offer environmentally conscious residents with 4 Tesla charging stations, 6 universal charging stations, and a rainwater car wash system.
