Much work has been done in the West End Toronto neighbourhood of The Junction where TAS' DUKE Condos has been coming together. In the 21 months since the project's late-2014 ground breaking ceremony, the site of the 7-storey Quadrangle Architects-designed condominium development was shored and excavated, followed by the subsequent rise and topping off of the structure, the latter of which was achieved in February.

Over the past few months, the building's exterior has undergone a dramatic transformation with the application of its cladding. The image shows an elevated work platform high above the mid-rise's Dundas Street frontage, in use by construction crew to install exterior elements on the highly articulated north side of the building.

The installation of tinted windows framed in black mullions is now practically complete, while the building's main cladding of white bricks is now in place on much of the west half of the structure. The image below shows the southeast corner of the building fully glazed, and currently awaiting the laying of its brick skin.

Drawing its name from its location on 'DU'ndas Street West near 'KE'ele Street, the development will add a mix of 85 residential units to The Junction including townhomes and live/work lofts, ranging in size from 450 square feet up to 1,600 square feet. The project will be anchored to the Dundas West streetscape with double-height retail spaces, while live/work units will animate the laneway to the rear.
