Last month we were given an advanced preview of the presentation centre for Aragon's Eighty One Wellesley, a 28-storey, Core Architects-designed condominium tower coming to Toronto's Church-Wellesley Village. The presentation centre offers a number of interesting features, including two model suites that display some of the design possibilities for the building's 179 condominium units.
Units in the development will range in size from 439 ft² to 1,107 ft², and start in price from the low $300,000s. The two model suites in the presentation centre—featuring interiors and staging by Aragon's in-house design team—are both one bedroom + 1 bathroom layouts, though each boasts a very different aesthetic. Coming in at 520 square feet with an 86 square foot balcony, the smaller of the two suites features a light palette of tones.
The 520 square foot unit is built around a central corridor flanked by a bathroom and a shared kitchen and main living area. The floorplan represented here is a corner unit, and will feature large expanses of glazing that allow ample natural light to penetrate the suite. An expanse of the main living area's floor-to-ceiling glazing is represented with a print of a cityscape view.
A closer look at the unit's kitchen reveals features like integrated appliances, a gas range, and high-end finishes for cabinetry and faucets.
The combined kitchen/living room area opens up onto an 86 square foot balcony complete with patio furniture and planters.
The unit's bedroom brings a splash of colour to the mix, with a bright orange installation gracing the wall above the bed, and warm-hued flourishes including throw pillows and other ornamentation.
The bathroom in this unit features stone and tile finishes for walls and floors, as well as a glass-enclosed shower/tub, and a minimalistic dual-flush toilet.
The second unit on display in the project's presentation centre is a 680 square-foot 1-bedroom, 1-bathroom suite with a 157 square-foot balcony. While this unit features a much darker palette and a different style of furnishings, it also shares much in common with the smaller 520 square-foot suite, namely fixtures and quality of finishes.
Like the smaller unit, the 680 square-foot suite includes plenty of floor-to-ceiling glazing, filling the space with an abundance of natural light. The space opens out to a 157 square-foot balcony, which is accessible from both the living room and bedroom.
The suite's bedroom takes more of a minimalist approach, with a simple yet effective contrast of dark and light finishes. Like the living room, the space looks out onto the suite's balcony, providing direct outdoor access from the bedroom.
Finishes for the larger model suite's bathroom mirror those found in the smaller unit, including the stone and tile finishes, glass-enclosed shower/tub, and dual-flush toilet, but utilizing a similar darker palette as seen in the larger unit's bathroom and main living space.
