Tucked between the Rosedale and Summerhill neighbourhood's, Hill and Dale Residences is adding a fine-grained urban presence to Toronto's Yonge Street. Just north of the Downtown corridor that's now in the midst of a intense high-rise development, the Old Stonehenge and Clifton Blake Group mixed-use project—now under construction—is transforming a three-storey institutional building into contemporary retail, offices, and boutique condominium residences. With private showings beginning this week, we take a closer look at Hill and Dale's 15 residential suites, which offer a bespoke urban lifestyle rarely found in Toronto's new-build condos.

Designed by Studio JCI, Hill and Dale Residences will occupy the top three floors of the mixed-use, 6-storey building. With street-level retail fronting Yonge, the project will also feature 10,000 ft² of rental office space above the retail areas, fostering 24-hour vibrancy on a modest scale. The fourth, fifth, and sixth floors will house 15 luxurious residences, with interiors by Chapi Chapo Design

The project's remaining suites range in size from 871 ft² to 3,225 ft², the interiors are characterized by an open ambiance. With 10' and 11' ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows—and no bulkheads or dropped ceilings anywhere throughout the suites—each residence is designed to invite ample natural light. With triple-paned windows, the energy-efficient interiors will provide exceptionally quiet, relaxing spaces, accented by understated high-end finishes.

Boasting deep soaker tubs, walk-in showers, and double vanities, the oversize bathrooms will be finished in natural stone, making for a soothing 'spa-style' atmosphere. Suites will also feature luxurious bulthaup kitchens with Gaggenau appliances, bringing high-performance German design to each units. Quartz surfaces, stainless steel backsplashes, and millwork cabinetry make for sophisticated and highly functional kitchens.

Meanwhile, living areas are characterized by engineered oak floors, marble fireplaces, and discretely recessed lighting fixtures, with spaces designed to be customizable, allowing residents to tailor suites to their specifications.

Spacious private terraces are another highlight of the residences, with each suite featuring an outdoor area that's open to the space above it. Ranging up to an incredible 1,900 ft² in size, the terraces are equipped with wood decking and bbq connections, while sixth-floor penthouse suites boast rooftop spaces with dumbwaiters. Made possible by the building's stepbacks, many of the terraces will open up to a panoramic view of the Rosedale valley to the east.
