On September 28th, the winners of the 2015 Ontario Home Builders’ Association (OHBA) Awards of Distinction were announced at the prestigious Deerhurst Resort in Huntsville, with awards being given out across 39 different categories, honouring the design, sales, and marketing aspects of land development.

The top honour for 2015 Ontario Home Builder of the Year was awarded to developer Empire Communities, due to their commitment to customer service and building environmentally-friendly communities. Over the course of Empire's 20 years in business in the condominium industry, the developer has participated in several fundraising initiatives like Habitat for Humanity, plus a $250,000 sponsorship to Brantford’s Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre, $33,000 to David Hornell Jr. School for an outdoor classroom and $40,000 to the Brantford Home Builders’ Association (BHBA) Annual Luncheon.

Empire's flagship community, Eau du Soleil, is now under construction in Humber Bay Shore

Other Prestige Award recipients include Project of the Year (Low Rise) winner Aspen Ridge Homes for their Upper West Side project in Thornhill, Project of the Year (High or Mid-Rise) winner Fusion Homes for The Metalworks development in Guelph, and People's Choice Award winner Marz Homes Holdings Inc. for their South Coast Village development in Crystal Beach.
