A new addition will soon take shape in Toronto's Church-Wellesley Village, as construction is about to begin at the site of Plaza's 50 at Wellesley Station. As the name implies, the 37-storey, Quadrangle Architects-designed condominium tower will rise on the same block of Wellesley Street as Wellesley Station on the TTC's Line 1, between Yonge and Church Street, putting residents both within reach of public transit and in the heart of Toronto's LGBT community.

The development recently marked a major step forward, with the removal of the project's on-site presentation centre. This milestone is the first step of the site preparation work that will prime the site for the shoring and excavation stages of construction to follow.

50 at Wellesley Station will add 365 units to the Church-Wellesley area, with prices for remaining suites ranging from $675,000 for a 835 square-foot, three bedroom corner suite, up to $939,000 for a 1,283 square-foot, three bedroom suite. At the time of our last update back in July, the project was around 90% sold, with just a handful of units remaining for purchase. With the sales centre now gone, Plaza has moved their sales operations for the development over to Ivory on Adelaide, a recently-completed development by Plaza located at 400 Adelaide Street East.

Once completed in June of 2017, 50 at Wellesley Station will offer residents a number of amenities found on the second floor, including a yoga room, a media room, and both indoor and outdoor lounge areas. In addition to the building amenities being offered, several neighbourhood amenities can be found in the vibrant community surrounding the development, including Paul Kane House Parkette to the immediate east of the development site.
