There's been a lot of interest on UrbanToronto about 1 Yorkville, a new condominium proposal by Bazis and Plaza, ever since word first came of the redevelopment of the prime site on Yonge just north of Bloor Street earlier this year. Certainly the first rendering to come out elicited much talk about the tower's textural metal fins, variously angled to catch the light in a myriad of ways during the course of a day. Since that time, UrbanToronto has also looked at the evolving design and how it will meet the 1860s heritage commercial properties lining Yonge which will be restored as part of the complex.

Work, in the meantime, has also been proceeding full steam ahead on the amenities that 1 Yorkville's team have in store for future residents of this 58-storey building. Architect Rosario Varacalli and interiors experts The Design Agency are giving us a sneak peek at three more aspects of the building now, with more to come soon.

We already know that the building's entry will be via a new-and-improved laneway running north-south along the west side of the property. The view above now shows the plan to bring the angled fins directly to the ground on this side, stopping at a black granite forecourt framed by greenery. The lobby can be seen beyond, while a shop accessed from Yorkville Avenue appears at left.

The fourth and fifth floors of the building promise plenty of amenity space, inside and out. Above we get a look at the outdoor pool, complete with cabana islands. Aquatic pursuits are also catered to here with a hot tub, cold and hot plunge pools, a steam room, sauna, and sure to be a hit, an Aqua Massage built for two.

Just inside from the pool there's the spa lounge, while the spiral staircase at back leads to the exercise level. It promises to be stocked with top-notch equipment with modern cardio equipment and strength training machines, while there will be a separate studio for Pilates. A juice bar and dance studio will round out features in this area.

There's more coming at the top of the building too to take advantage of the great views from the Yorkville area of the whole city, but we will talk more about the rooftop amenities when those renderings arrive.
