Rain Condos, developed by Empire Communities, is contributing to urban revitalization in Oakville's historic and very walkable core. Located within walking distance to both Oakville's GO station and its waterfront, the project at the corner of Kerr Street and Speers Road will act as the northern entrance to Kerr Village, and will compliment the efforts of its BIA to renew the area with the contribution of 528 units to the neighbourhood. As construction proceeds and heritage buildings are being restored, Rain Condos has released 12 new suite designs for the master-planned Oakville community's south tower.

Designed by Graziani + Corazza Architects, Rain Condos will consists of two towers, one 21 storeys, the other 19, bridged by a 5 storey podium. Rain will rise above its mostly low-rise surroundings, contributing a distinct landmark of staggered balconies to the Oakville skyline while providing a concentration of high-rise urban energy to the Kerr Village area.

Respecting the site's history, two heritage homes are being incorporated into the development. Locally known as the Smith Houses, they were built by Scottish settlers in 1911 and the 1930s to resemble their ancestral homes in Aberdeen. Once surrounded by orchards, the houses have been moved to front Kerr Street, and will eventually be enveloped by Rain's 5-storey podium and the towers that will rise above it. The homes are currently being restored and outfitted for commercial tenants, though their final re-use has yet to be determined. Rain Condos will include retail at-grade, so it is possible that boutiques or restaurants may soon occupy the historic homes.

Condominium suites in the first release range from compact 400 sq feet to larger 1,030 sq ft unit, and start in the $200,000s. To add to the positive energy as construction continues and the development is recognized for excellence in design by organizations such as BILD and OHBA, Rain has released twelve new suite designs in its south tower. The new designs range in size from the compact 'Splendid', at 510 sq ft, to the larger 'Grand', a two bedroom plus den with wrap around balcony at nearly 1,500 sq ft.
