UrbanToronto member Red Mars recently dropped by the construction site of Monarch's Quay West at Tip Top condominium. The 24 storey tower, and 8 storey podium, were designed by Pater Clewes of architectsAlliance.

Quay West rises just south of Tip Top Lofts, a 1929 warehouse and manufacturing facility for Tip Top Tailors, which was converted in the early 2000s by Context Development. Tip Top's renovation and expansion was also carried out by architects Alliance.

Quay West sits right on the waterfront by Coronation Park. The towers of Lanterra and Lifetime's Water Park City rise in the background.
